Cabbage Casserole 271 Calories

Cabbage Casserole

Now there are 2 ways to go about making this dish. One is quicker than the other. One way is to prepare in advance and bake it in the oven. The quick way is to cook it in the pressure cooker. All it consists of is one head of cabbage, 1 can tomato sauce or a can of diced tomatoes, 1 pound of 90/10 ground meat, 1 cup instant white rice, 1 medium onion and season with Cajun seasoning. Throw it all in a 13x9 casserole dish or aluminum pan and bake for 1 hour. If you cooking it with the pressure cooker, cook for 15 minutes. That is all. If you divide this dish into 6 servings and that's a lot, it weighs in at only 271 calories. If you would like it to be a little more hearty add 1 link of diced up Cajun smoked sausage. That would bump up the calories to around 342 calories per serving. Now that's a healthy meal in a snap. A crucial part of everyone's diet is will power. The second is portion control with good choices. Third is physical activities.

Cabbage Casserole

Friday September 2, 2016 Menu

For breakfast I finished off my leftover banana bread.  Oh it was soo yummy, just as good as the first day.  I knew I would eat leftovers for lunch and I knew what my menu was for supper.   I entered all my items in the My Fitness Pal to see where I was at in the calories.  I figured out I was doing awesome.  I had over 400 calories left for the day.  I wanted a little yogurt for my first snack.   I ate my leftover crock pot pork.  For an afternoon snack I stole a few of my coworkers almonds for a snack.  Oops and he saw me.  But we do that.  For supper I ate my wonderfully easy to cook cabbage casserole.  This casserole is a great fill me up dish with not many calories.  I wasn't sure how to measure the rice.  My mom put 1/2 cup of rice grains in the whole casserole.  So I put that I at least at 1/2 cup of cooked rice with my cabbage.  The whole meal was only 260 calorie and I filled up my cereal bowl.  This light calorie meal left me room for that ice cream I have been wanting all week.
I finished with a total of 1277 calories for the day.   Had some ice cream and still had some calories left for the day.  If you like my meal ideas just check out my diary for a list of ingredients for that meal.  And yes! I measured and weighed everything.  A crucial part of everyone's dieting is will power. The second part is portion control with good choices and third is physical activity.

Eggplant Lasagna

Wednesday August 17, 2016 Menu

For this menu I knew what I wanted to each for my meals.  I entered my menu in the My Fitness Pal app to make sure I was doing good with my menu choices.  At this point it was looking good.   I then determined my portion sizes to make it right.  I ate leftover banana bread for breakfast.  Then when I felt hungry I put in all my available snacks into my calculations.  My snack ideas were a Go Big - Strawberry yogurt, Light 'n Fit Nonfat Strawberry Banana and Light & Fit - Nonfat Yogurt Drink - Mixed Berry.   Since I had enough calories available I ate one of my new yogurt's I wanted to try that best fit my fat, salt and sugar levels.  Leftover fried sausage cabbage for lunch.  I was feeling hungry around 3:30 in the evening.  I fixed me 1/2 cup of grapes to graze on the way home since my salt and fat was looking high.  In the evening I went do my 1 hour of exercise, which included 20 minutes of cardio and the rest of the time weight training.  Then the reward was this awesomely delicious eggplant lasagna.  I basically measured all the ingredients that went into this the one lasagna.  Then I calculated how many servings I would get out of it.  Then I divided the measurements accordingly to put in the My Fitness Pal program.  As  you see I ate pretty good for the day and I only ate 1164 calories for the day.  If you like my meal ideas just check out my diary for a list of ingredients for that meal.  And yes! I measured and weighed everything.
